Yandere Simulator – Academy High
In Academy High you start as Naomi Wright in the first week of 2024, with ten rivals still to arrive around Sean Heistburg, which matters because each one turns up on a fixed schedule rather than all at once. Everything else in this Yandere Simulator mod follows from that calendar: who you befriend, who you steer away and which of six endings you end up with.
Naomi Wright, Sean Heistburg and Ten Weeks in Academy High
The mod trades the fictional Japanese high school of the base game for a college in New York. Naomi’s story begins after an incident about a year earlier that broke up her friend group, including her friendship with Sean, on whom she has strong feelings. Her rivals are mostly the Student Representatives, her former friends, so every encounter carries history.
A glance at the Student Info Menu in the first two minutes shows ten names to manage. None of them are strangers to Naomi.
The arrivals are paced week by week. By the fourth week Kendall Clover approaches Sean and becomes the fourth rival, Tori Clarise, a cheerful aspiring singer, joins in week 5, Erica Gwendolyn follows in week 8, and James Reynolds, the Vice Principal’s son, rounds out the late cast in week 9. Players who like fixed timelines will enjoy planning around those dates.
From Akademi to New York: What Changes Compared With Yandere Simulator
The base game puts Ayano Aishi in Akademi High School, and the mod keeps the same skeleton while moving the setting and the cast. Naomi’s story runs in 2024 where Ayano’s runs in 2025, and Eddie Wright’s 1988 story mirrors the 1989 timeline of the base game’s earlier era. Anyone who knows Yandere Simulator will recognize the weekly rhythm immediately.
The sexual content of the base game is toned down here, and the focus sits on rivals, schedules and social planning. The tone is still dark, since obsessive love drives every decision, so it is worth knowing that before you start.
Because each mode has exactly ten rivals and both modes are completed, the mod feels more contained than a sprawling sandbox. Whether that makes it easier depends on how many of the six endings you chase, since the pacifist route asks for far more care than a single quick run.
Ten Rivals and the Student Representatives
Naomi faces five female and five male rivals, and nearly all of them are Student Representatives who used to be her friends. James Reynolds is the exception, a brand-new student who joins that year. Every rival has a unique friendship task, which gives each week its own small puzzle.
Players tend to settle on one of three approaches:
- Friendship tasks: each rival has a task that builds a bond, and this is the backbone of the pacifist route.
- Matchmaking: Naomi can pair a rival with another student to move them away from Sean, which players call the cupid route.
- Lethal elimination: the harshest path, and the one that leads toward the vengeful ending.
In Naomi’s canon story she eliminates four rivals lethally and leaves six alive, three of them handled peacefully, and James is expelled after being framed. That mix is a useful reference point if you want an ending that matches the story rather than an extreme.
1988 Mode: Eddie Wright, Destiny Folger and the Gift Every Two Weeks
1988 Mode stars Eddie Wright, Naomi’s father as a young adult, whose crush is Destiny Folger. Almost all of his rivals are male, including Melvin Robinson, the smartest boy in school and the first rival, along with Dale Baker, Kenneth Reed, Calvin Roberts, Steven Martinez, Azrael Hendrix and Zachary Harrison. The tenth and final rival is Cindy Stewarts in week 10.
Some endings in this mode require Eddie to leave a gift on Destiny’s desk every two weeks. Miss that rhythm and you land on the heartbroken ending instead.
Cindy adds a trap. If Eddie eliminates every rival except her, the bad ending follows, because she becomes the cause of his downfall. Rules like that divide players: some see a clever twist on the base game, others see a punishment for playing the vengeful route too confidently.
Pacifist, Cupid or Vengeful: Choosing an Ending in Academy High
There are six endings across the two modes. The pacifist ending requires every rival to survive, while Naomi’s unique ending is vengeful and requires every rival to be eliminated. Deciding early which path you want saves a lot of wasted weeks, because the friendship tasks and the matchmaking approach demand different habits from the start.
Mission Mode works in both timelines, and when the Nemesis replacement is enabled, Sean hunts Naomi in 2024 while Destiny Folger hunts Eddie in 1988. Once that option is on, the weekly routine stops being a calm planning exercise.
After you beat a mode once without Debug Mode, Gender Flip unlocks, turning Eddie into Evelyn Wright and Sean into Shauna Heistburg. Completionists will want to finish both modes honestly, since the unlock rewards a clean run rather than a shortcut.
Endings, Modes and Unlocks: Academy High Answers
How many endings does Academy High have?
There are six endings in total. The pacifist ending needs every rival to survive, Naomi’s unique ending is vengeful, and Eddie’s 1988 Mode adds endings tied to the gift for Destiny Folger and to what happens with Cindy Stewarts.
What is the difference between 2024 Mode and 1988 Mode?
2024 Mode follows Naomi Wright and her rivals, who are mostly former friends and Student Representatives. 1988 Mode follows her father Eddie Wright, with a mostly male rival cast, Destiny Folger as his crush and a recurring gift requirement.
How do you unlock Gender Flip?
Beat either mode once without Debug Mode. Beating 2024 Mode unlocks the flipped versions of characters such as Sean, who becomes Shauna Heistburg, and beating 1988 Mode does the same for Eddie, who becomes Evelyn Wright.
Academy High asks for planning more than reflexes: decide early whether Naomi follows the pacifist, cupid or vengeful path, keep Sean Heistburg’s Nemesis role in mind if Mission Mode is on, and remember that Eddie owes Destiny Folger a gift every two weeks in 1988 Mode. Players who like ten-week schedules and fixed rival timelines will find two complete stories inside one mod.
